The need for tweed... Builders Notes ."With our 57 Deluxe we believe we've nailed the sound to the core. We built 3 of these to experiment with utilising different components t'out. The first 2 we were very impressed with , driving a Jensen P12n spkr , our demo guitarists thought the sound was absolute killer. Just like when we built our first Princeton Reverbs, we knew immediatly that the sound was in the zone and didnt really require much tweaking. But hold on , with the 3rd Deluxe we built we changed the coupling and tone caps. The difference was immediately apparent , tonewise superior to the other 2. We now had the amp to work with and refine , lets trial the spkrs. The Jensen P12N which is a killer in our 63 deluxes, sounded awesome but had this minor mid-range thing going on, the Jensen P12Q sounded inferior to the P12N. The WGS didnt have the refinement. We did trial the Celestion Blue,it did sound good , but had that Brit tone, too marshallesque..its not the sound we're after..we're after classic 50's tweed tone. When we trialled the Weber 12a125a we were totally blown away, it sounds like the Weber has been purposely voiced for this amp , in other words its a marriage. We are absolutely stoked with the outcome. Just like our other tweed amps, we've been blown away with how good they sound. We honestly believe and so do the players , that our tweed amps will blow away the imports , and the locals "
